The Unknown Direction
Of course *some* of you know it . . .
Picture a tiny creature, say a non-flying bug, in a cardboard box three inches high. The bug goes in all four directions and into the corners trying to get out, but no dice. If the bug could go up, escape would be easy, but it has no concept of up.
Or take Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions, by A. Square (Edward A. Abbott), published in 1884. The putative author (a square), experiences more directions than point people or line people, but anything further is a mystery to him, at least until he experiences a paranormal incursion, his meeting with a cube. For him, this is a higher dimension, and as with the tiny bug above, it opens new worlds of possibility previously undreamed of.
We’re in a similar position on the Earth Plane, and from down here, things can seem pretty grim and hopeless. And a large contingent of people think the idea of anything higher that humans can experience is nonsense, moonbeam dreams for fools. (The great religions and indigenous traditions disagree.)
Like being in love, the experience of higher dimensions is self-affirming. When you’ve had it, you know you have, though you can’t prove it. It’s like being in love in that way, and also because those who haven’t had it sometimes think they have, but the misunderstanding never goes the other way. Because it’s like being run over by a truck, impossible to miss when it happens.
There are lots of YouTube videos from people claiming to have had near-death or other paranormal experiences, to have visited the Higher Planes. And a funny thing is, if you’ve had this in some form, it’s pretty easy to tell which are the real ones. There’s a taste of authenticity and maybe a bit less woo-woo and fairy dust.
In closing, let me recommend to you this video by Rosemary Thornton .1 A most down-to-earth and no B.S. lady, who made my family, in the old cliche, both laugh and cry.

This is not so say that we should go 'up' instead of working for justice, peace, and sanity down here. We need to do *both*!
